J.H. Kapsperger`s "Libro Terzo d`intavolatura di Chitarrone" is a work many thought to be lost forever and yet bought by auction in 2001 by the Yale University Music Library. This facsimile edition reproduces that unique copy. Franco Pavan sketches out the exciting episodes of the appearances and disappearances of an edition that has been often cited during the centuries in the repertories and catalogues of several book collections. He also describes the main features of its important musical as well as theoretical and practical contents.
